LeRoi Moore (born September 7, 1961) is the saxophonist for the Dave Matthews Band.
He plays bass, baritone, tenor, alto, and soprano saxophones, as well as the flute, bass clarinet and wooden penny whistle.
LeRoi's woodwind technician, David Saull, notes that Moore has "quite an extensive horn collection." As of 2002, it includes a Buescher bass saxophone, Selmer Mark VI and Yamaha baritone saxophones, two Selmer Mark VI tenor saxophones, two Selmer Mark VI alto saxophones, a Yamaha soprano, and a Selmer Super-80 Series 3 soprano, according to Saull.
In addition to performing with the Dave Matthews Band, LeRoi has also appeared on Code Magenta's self-titled album, and on Soko's album In November Sunlight.

ATV accident
On June 30, 2008, the Dave Matthews Band website posted this statement:
LeRoi Moore was injured today in an ATV accident on his farm outside Charlottesville, Virginia. LeRoi was immediately transported to the University of Virginia Health System for treatment where he remains in serious condition.
Not much else is known about the incident, but the message also stated that Jeff Coffin, the saxophonist from Béla Fleck and the Flecktones, will step in for Leroi on the Summer 2008 Tour until Moore's recovery.
On July 1, 2008, the road crew for the Dave Matthews Band posted this statement in the "Road" section of the Dave Matthews Band website:
After his first full day of recovery, we're learning that his condition is improving. Dave and Carter spent a few hours at his side this morning, laughing together and talking. He's alert and cracking jokes already. They commented on how much they were heartened and excited after leaving the hospital, knowing that he's going to be alright. Dave announced to the audience tonight "He was beat up real good, but he's going to be fine.
It was later confirmed that Moore broke several ribs and suffered a punctured lung, and will recover. On July 18, 2008 it was announced that he was rehospitalized due to complications stemming from his accident.
On August 19, 2008, LeRoi Moore passed away due to complications resulting from his ATV accident. No further details have been released by the band as of this writing.
